Lyric Rivera

Originally from Kingston, TN, Lyric Rivera is currently a second-year Flute Fellow at the New World Symphony. Recently, she has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, Syracuse Orchestra and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.

Previously, Lyric has been a fellow with Quinteto Latino, an ensemble dedicated to promoting and performing music by all Latino composers within underrepresented communities. She has been a fellow at the Aspen Music Festival and School, and Blossom Music Festival, where she performed alongside her colleagues and members of The Cleveland Orchestra.

Lyric’s artistry has been recognized through multiple competition honors, having been named a finalist in the Philadelphia, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Mid-South Flute Society Competitions.

Lyric’s commitment to artistic and cultural exchange has taken her around the globe, with performances and educational outreach engagements in Amman, Jordan, Quito Ecuador and across the United States.

Lyric recently earned a professional studies certificate from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied under the esteemed Yubeen Kim. She also holds a master of music degree from the same institution, having studied with Cathy Payne, and earned her bachelor of music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Alexa Still. Prior to her collegiate studies, she attended the Interlochen Arts Academy, studying with Nancy Stagnitta.
